Acting sustainably at Institutional Investment Group

Since its foundation, the central value proposition for investors and employees of the Institutional Investment Group (‘2IG’) and its companies has been based on giving sustainability factors a high priority in all activities and services.

Promoted by the market position we have gained and the resulting increase in social responsibility – but also by general social developments – our main endeavour is to use our own sphere of influence to make a significant corporate contribution to a sustainable environment and society.

For this reason, 2IG has translated the general principles of sustainable corporate governance into its own company-related sustainability strategy, which makes sustainable behaviour in and by our company binding and also takes into account any adverse effects of investment decisions on sustainability factors.

Principles and codes

The Institutional Investment Group is a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) initiative supported by the United Nations. This network of international investors is committed to establishing and implementing the principles of responsible investment in practice. The PRI were developed by the investment community and reflect the view that environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and therefore need to be properly considered by investors if they are to fulfill their social responsibilities. By implementing the principles, the signatories contribute to the development of a more sustainable global financial system.

Launched in 2006 by the UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact, the PRI provide a voluntary framework through which all investors can integrate ESG considerations into their decision-making and ownership to better align their objectives with those of society as a whole.

Stewardship

We want to take responsibility in line with our market position and make a significant corporate contribution to a sustainable environment and society.

To this purpose, we also use our influence on third parties (stewardship) to optimise the long-term overall value from shared economic, social and environmental values.

The following guideline describes how we want to implement this as an Institutional Investment Group:
